Two-day long Gawri Writer’s Workshop for ladies held in GCDP female staff member Zeenat Begum’s house in Kukunel, Kalam. Some eight women trainees participated in this workshop and learnt to write the stories in Gawri Language. Each day the workshop started with the recitation of Holy Quraan. After the recitation the lead trainer Zeenat briefed the workshop participants about the importance of writing in their own mother tongue. She also shared her experience with them as an MTB-MLE teacher in Gawri MLE school in Kukunel for many years. She has shared examples of the female students who always excelled in her class and when they transited to the government primary school, they passed the tests with high numbers.
Zeenat also highlighted the aims and goals of this workshop. In these two days each participants wrote two stories and then these were edited by Zeenat and Yasmeen Begum. These stories handed over to Hayat Muhammad for further editing and type into computer.
Excursion to the Reading Room
After completion of the workshop, these trainees were taken to the GCDP office to see the library and office. Sadia Bibi briefed all the trainees about the books in Gawri reading room.
